No, I’m not talking about the Zombie Apocalypse or the Mayan end of days (December 21); I’m talking about my first book.
I spent the entire week working on the final revision, and probably have a month or so to go.
It’s actually shaping up to be pretty good. Once I complete this final revision, I’ll ask a handful of my friends, family, and critique partners to look it over, and give me their opinion.
Sometimes I don’t even have to talk to them to understand their opinion – just the way they return the manuscript can speak volumes.
If it comes back with a post it note attached that says “WOW, This is great!”, I’m fairly confident they like it.
If it comes back through the front window, tied to a brick, and covered with poop, it’s safe to assume they didn’t like it or found it offensive.
Either way, I’m putting a tarp down on the carpet.
